Heartland Payment Systems Compromise of Credit/Debit Card Data
Recently Heartland Payment Systems, a credit/debit/prepaid card processor which has no affiliation with our Bank, announced that it experienced an information security breach involving Visa®, Master Card® and other brands of cards. We would remind you that your VISA® Check Card is protected by Visa's Zero Liability Program®. VISA® will also be taking precautionary measures to monitor potentially affected VISA® Check Card accounts. Additionally, VISA® has added extra security measures over the past year to their system; this provides extra scrutiny of both credit and debit activity that takes place on all VISA® transactions. As a precaution, always review your statements upon receipt or online through Internet Banking, and check them closely for any unusual transactions. If there are any transactions in question, please contact your local Branch Manager or our VISA® Check Card Department, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1-800-851-5152.
